Welcome to WNY Bonsai, your gateway to the world of bonsai in Western New York.
Bonsai is the art of miniturization of trees done for aesthetic purposes. It's origins lie in Chinese Pen-zai or pot growing, Bonzai developed it's renown after being introduced to Japan in the ninth century. In the West, the term "bonsai" is used as a cover-all for all miniature trees.
There are many forms to it however, with styles in parts of China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Once the domain of the wealthy, bonsai is now an affordable, enjoyable and relaxing hobby for everyone.
